Quality One Way Backlinks To Your Website

I got a SEO article on the importance of backlinks via a news-letter I'm subscribed to. I decided to post some of its passages I found interesting, & share wih people interested in the SEO field, hope it helps ... place to the article:

There are basically two aspects to SEO, "on page" & "off page" optimization.

"On Page" SEO is easy because it's totally under your control. It's simply a case of making sure you have optimized your web pages correctly.

OK, so there is a bit more to it than that, like keyword research, keyword density & frequency, which html tags to use, making sure your site/pages are W3 Compliant, using relative/absolute internal linking structures to feed the pagerank where it's most effective, using titles and descriptions that encourage people to clíck through from the SERP's etc.

But essentially, once you know how to do all that, it's not difficult to get it right for all your pages/sites.

It's also less important in the long run than getting sufficient links to your site/pages from other sites.

Getting links to your site is fundamental to getting visitors, and without visitors all the time, effort and money invested in getting your site up and running, and looking "nice", is irrelevant.

No Visitors = No Point!

So links are essential to the health of your site, and indeed your business, but all links are not equal in value to your site.

Reciprocal links will help, but they are far less effective than one way backlinks, i.e. links from another site where you don't have to link back to them. These "One Way" backlinks will give your site a far greater boost in the search engine results and bring you more traffíc, providing of course that you have chosen good (relevant) keywords for your links.

There are many ways of getting these powerful one way backlinks, but most you will have no control over the anchor text used (i.e. keywords) in the link, which means their "power" is unfocused and therefore of less use to you in achieving the targeted keyword results you are looking for.

For example, submitting your site to website directories can be a very effective way of picking up some high quality one way links from high PR sites, but you will seldom be able to choose the keywords/anchor text used for the link, often ending up with the site name as the link.

This is not a waste of time, as the Pagerank passed to your site will, with the correct internal linking structure, be passed on to your sites internal pages, helping them to rank better for their targeted keywords.

Here's how to create an auto updated lens to promote your blog:

First you need to register, fill your preferences, then you can hit a button to start building your first lens, just follow steps:

What's your lens about? - Be as descriptive as possible
What do you want to do with your lens? Choose: "I want to get the word out about ..". (easiest option)
Choose lens title & URL (be as descriptive as possible again & use relevant keywords, especially URL, because you can't change it later), choose your category & rating (all public, adult ..).
Choose your keywords - Choose them carefully to make sure people find about the topic you discuss in your lens when they search Squidoo

Then click the "Done!" button.

When your lens is created it's not published, you need to customize it first:

At the start there are many modules, I will talk about some of them, but you can add any number you wish (or delete the ones you don't need):

Title module: It's the first & has already the title you chose when you created the lens (but you can change it).
Introduction module: As the lens is supposed to promote your blog, click on "edit" button & add a description or introduction to your blog + you can add a picture.
RSS module: this module will make your lens auto-updated whenever you update your blog! (details below)
Links module: You can add some links of you sites (& get traffic + backlinks) or the sites you like.
Guestbook module: This one will allow visitors to leave comments.

How to setup RSS module?

Click on "Edit"
Add a title & if you wish subtitle & description
Add your blog RSS link, for blogger, the link is http://your-blog.blogspot.com/rss.xml
How many headlines would you like to show? Choose "15"
Would you like to include an excerpt from each link in the feed?? Choose "Everything" or "100 characters"
How frequently should the module be updated? 6 or 12 hours
Would you like to display HTML in the excerpt? Yes
Click on "Save"

It's recommended before you publish your lens, that you write something in the bio, you can also add a photo or avatar.

Now hit "Publish!" button, your 1st lens is live! :)

URL Channel in Google Adsense Account

Hi!

A quick tutorial on how to add a URL channel in Google Adsense account & be able to track your adsense impressions & clicks for a blog or site displaying your ads, you can even add several channels for one site, for a specified page, folder or subdomain ..

Login to your Google Adsense account then click on the AdSense Setup tab.
Click then on Channels link.
Now, under "AdSense for Content" tab click on "URL Channels"
Click on "Add new custom channels"
In the page you're in now, there's a field where you have to enter URLs you want to track one per line, there are some examples provided by google too:

example.com track all pages across all subdomains
sports.example.com track only pages across the 'sports' subdomain
sports.example.com/widgets track all pages below a specific directory
sports.example.com/index.html track a specific page

here's a real example from my site http://trafficncash.info/
trafficncash.info
something.rafficncash.info (I don't have a subdomain for now)
trafficncash.info/blog
trafficncash.info/make-dollars-sharing-videos.html
Now click on "Add Channels" button

for TVS, it's recommended to add TVS home page URL www.thevideosense.com & your personnal page, mine is: www.thevideosense.com/user/BigMumu, the 1st will track impressions for all your pages & your referrals pages, the 2nd track only impressions on your main page & other pages in which the videos are listed, but not impressions for single videos pages as they are not under your main page subfolder (www.thevideosense.com/user/BigMumu), example of video URL: www.thevideosense.com/video/Numa-Numa-Original

How to Add a Custom Channel to your TVS Account

OK, let's write a tutorial about how to add a custom channel to your profile on TVS & be able to track impressions generated by you & your referrals, they are 3 steps:

create a custom channel
get the numeral code for your channel (the most complicated step but not that complicated).
insert it to the profile section in your TVS account (very simple)

1st Step: Create a Custom Channel:

Login to your Google Adsense account then click on the AdSense Setup tab.
Click then on Channels link.
Click on Add new custom channels link
You will see a field in which you have to enter a name for your channel, why not your TVS username or just TVS. You will see a box described "Show this channel to advertisers as an ad placement", don't check it, just click on the "Add channel" button once you name channel.

2st Step: Get the Numeral Code:

1st, click on Products link under AdSense Setup tab
Now click on AdSense for Content, you will have to choose "Ad unit" or "Link unit", choose any of them & click on "Continue >>" button, choice here doesn't matter. (we only need a part of a code we will be given in the end of the wizard).
Now you're on a page to "Choose Ad Format and Colors", change nothing, just click again the "Continue >>" button.
In the page you are now, you can see the channel you created in Step 1, listed under "All channels", and a link next to it looking like this: "add »", click on it to select your channel, once done, channel will show under "Your selected channels", click then on the "Continue >>" button
Here we are, you can see the code we need now, look at this part of it:

google_ad_channel = "123456789";
google_color_border = "000000";
google_color_bg = "000000";

you will need to copy the numeral code in green above, you can't copy it to clipboard separately from the page you're in, you need to write or type it, or to avoid any typo, I recommend you copy the entire code, paste it to notepad then look for the digits & copy them for the next step.

3st Step: Insert the Numeral Code into your TVS account:

Login to your TVS account then click on Edit profile link.
The last field is described: "Adsense channel", put the numeral code from Step 2 there & click the "Submit" button.

This is a simple & original way to help you get links back from Disenchanted.com, this is how it works:

Link to any article, and it will link back to you

Every time you visit a web page, your browser tells that page's server where you came from. Rather than a violation of privacy, it simply tells the site's owner who is sending business their way. But Disenchanted would rather not hide this information, especially if it points to a response to one of our articles. This is why every article on our site carries links back to the pages that point to them. These reciprocal links are automatic and free.

So what you have to do ..

1. Pick any page
2. Link to it from your blog/site
3. After two or more different visitors follow it, we'll link back to you automatically
4. Results are cached for about 20 minutes, so instant gratification not available. Sorry.

The argument "?ref=2" at the end tells our page that paragraph #2 should contain a link back to your site.

If you can't tell what number a paragraph is, just view the source code of the page in your browser. Each paragraph is numbered with an ID.

What You Don't Have to Do as a TVS Member

Today I'm gonna talk a bit about TVS TOS (Terms of Service), mostly Google Adsense TOS apply as with any other site using Google Adsense; well these are the main points you should respect:

- Drive quality traffic & genuine clicks to your TVS pages:

Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to your account being disabled.

- Content (in TVS case it's videos & their descriptions content) must mainly be Porn, Gambling, Racism & any Illegal activities free:

TVS removes those videos breaking the TOS and even when there's only a doupt.

Members breaking the TOS are being banned; mainly people use to submit adult videos, that's prohibited & could make other members risk to loose their Google Adsense accounts; try to follow this:

Please do Not submit Adult or Mature related video, videos about hot girls or sexy girls or hot lingerie models will be deleted.
NO Videos about
hot girls
sexy girls
lingerie models
anything related to naked people
stripping
girls dancing
Any members posting videos containing any of the above content will have their accounts deleted immediately.
Do not put links to your TVS members pages in Any AutoSurf Programs or link rotation systems, any members found having links in these systems will have their accounts terminated immediately.

Now, if we turn back to the two main points: Traffic & Content:

To get quality traffic, you just have to follow TVS 10 steps, in my previous posts there are many ways & still more are going to be added ..

About content, why to go to prohibited topics & risk to loose forever all the big things one can do with Google Adsense, while there are 100s of other permitted topics? Just be creative & choose popular or helpful topics & you may get more than what you could expect from adult material for example ...

TVS Added Instant Social Bookmarking to Your Videos

Hi Again! This is another great feature from TVS to help you promote your videos:

When you log into your members account, see the links up the top of the page.

Look for the Submit Social Bookmarking link

Click on this link

On this page you will see 18 Social bookmarking websites

each name is hyper linked on the left

Start at number 1 blinklist

click on this link and go and register an account there.

then add the username and password in the fields provided.

then check the box beside it.

(You'll be surprised as soon as you submit a video it will be viewed at once)

TIP: use the same username for all accounts you create, so its simple to remember e.g your TVS username for example. to make sure its the same every time. put some numbers on the end of it. so you'll be pretty sure this username has not been used before.. e.g username231,so you can safely assume this would not be taken before and thus you can use it for every of the 18 accounts.. also use the same password for every account created.

Its a good idea to do all of them at once to get them out of the way.

this takes about 30 mins to create all of them

Check: your email and open all emails from the social bookmarking websites, to see if they have a confirmation link to click on .. some do some don't.

That's how it works

Now on to why and the benefits.

Now this feature was added to TVS , by submitting great videos to these social bookmarking website you will notice a big increase in traffic to your videos :)

This traffic is purely from the social bookmarking websites and not from search engines, though

Once you have these videos uploaded to VG. (following instructions in my pevious post HERE) how to get them ranking high, so you get the benefits of the links I've added?

First.. the simple ways using some of TVS admin sites.

(a) To comment on this blog below and get links to your videos you must first have a free account at www.blogger.com do this now. takes 2 mins, make the username and password something easy to remember.

go to http://marcdoni.blogspot.com/ and add a comment to any post on this blog, this is a PR 5 blog which means google has ranked this blog highly. So that means your videos will get indexed in the search engines , plus this helps get your videos ranking highly in the video.google.com results.

Click on the comments link

add this , though change the video url with your own and the text with your own

How to Park your Motor Bike

do the same on these below aswell.. the Higher the PR the better.

try to spread your comments around to the posts with least comments on them etc..

Numa Numa History

Numa Numa (or "the Numa Numa Dance") is an Internet phenomenon based on amateur videos, particularly one by Gary Brolsma, made for the song "Dragostea din tei" by Moldovan pop band O-Zone. It made it into one of the 100 Funniest Moments, broadcast by Channel 4 in the UK.

The phrase "Numa Numa" comes from the chorus of the song, "nu mă, nu mă iei," meaning, roughly, "don't want don't want to take me."

Gary Brolsma

A Flash-based video of American Gary Brolsma lip-synching the song energetically on his webcam brought the Numa Numa phenomenon to the US (video). Brolsma has stated that he first discovered the song in the Japanese flash animation Maiyahi [1] and thought it was Japanese.

In the original video, Brolsma does not finish the entire song, ending at around 1:37.

Brolsma first published his "Numa Numa Dance" on the Newgrounds site on December 6, 2004, where it has since been seen more than 10 million times[2] and copied onto hundreds of other websites and blogs, making it the second-most watched viral video of all time (only losing out to Star Wars kid). He has also received mainstream media coverage from ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's The Tonight Show and VH1's Best Week Ever, and, according to The New York Times, was an "unwilling and embarrassed Web celebrity." Your Own Videos on TVS ...

Hi! :) Here's the update for today:

You can't upload your videos directly to TVS, 1st you need to upload them to Video.Google or YouTube, then you get the embed codes ... the following tutorial will show you how to do that with Video.Google:

How to UpLoad Videos to Video.Google:

Create a Video Google account.
go to
http://video.google.com

click on Sign In, then click on

Create An Account Now link.

then go to http://video.google.com and sign in.

Once you have signed, click on the Uploaded Videos link , top right of browser.

Then click on the Upload Video link

Then click on the Learn More link under No2 Desktop Uploader.

This will reveal another window, then click on the Install Windows Uploader button and
follow the instructions.

Once you have install the desktop uploader, you can now upload as many video files
from your hard drive as possible.

Once you upload a movie file to video.google.com

You then need to add some information about this video.

Navigate back to your Videos section of video.google.com (from here on known as simply VG)

When the movies are first uploaded you may see a "Processing" message beside it. refresh the VG page every 5 mins till it says:

Needs Action.

Then click on the Add Info button

In the Title put a good description of this video, use as many terms as possible, the more terms the broader the market, these videos are found via search, the more terms you add the more exposure you will get.

It's recommend In the Description, that you copy what you entered in the title and then put this text with it:

YOUR TITLE INFO, from http://www.thevideosense.com/user/YourUserName/
Make money like I am by supplying videos like this, from the web to http://www.thevideosense.com/user/YourUserName/
( of course once you register your name. ;) )

when adding the description,

you add the same info in the title then the text similar to one above with it.. do not put line breaks between this description text and thevideosense.com message as this can make the second paragraph hidden.

Next. Select English

Now you are presented with the Genre Entries:

This is important.. categories e.g:
Top 100 Comedy | Music Videos | Sports | Animation |

You need to check at least one of the above boxes for every video that you enter to VG.

This means you have a chance of getting on of your videos listed here, if that happens, then they really take off and your text from above is exposed to a LOT of people.

In the URL field put http://www.thevideosense.com/user/YourUserName/
full name. = a term about your video
Role = another term about your video.
both these above help to get your video found in VG for these terms.

Then click on the save information button.

From this point it can take from 10 seconds to 8 hours for your videos to go live in VG.

Once its live. view it and then copy the URL of this video to a text file for later.

Do this for every video you have on your hard drive.

Once you get the hang of it.. its very fast. you open your VG uploader upload a ton of videos

add the info for each takes under a min for each.. then they are live. with links pointing back to your site.

So, please start uploading as many videos as you have on your hard drive to VG.
though add the info once you have created your thevideosense.com account etc.

To Check if Adsense is Working in Your Video Pages

Well I will update you with more information about TVS I got from TVS Forum:

To check if adsense is working in your video pages:

- Go to your personal page (again it looks like this one: http://www.thevideosense.com/user/BigMumu/)

- go to one of your video pages (of course by clicking on one of the videos you have on your main page).

- In the video page: check its source code to see if your pub-ID is there.

- If you found another pub refresh the page then check again the source code 2 or 3 times ...
Why?
Because TVS shares with you 50% adsense revenue, your pub will show 50% of the time, TVS pub 40% of the time & your referrer pub-ID 10%.
So sometimes you may see in the source code TVS pub or your referrer pub.

How Can Google Count the Hits to Adsense For You?

To allow Google to count the hits to adsense for you, you must add "Adsense Pub ID" to your "thevideosense" account:

How do I add my Adsense Pub ID?

log in to TheVideosense.com Then click on Edit profile

you will see a field titled Pub Id

enter your pub id in like this:

pub-4787635484968567

do not use ca-pub-4787635484968567

only use pub-4787635484968567

and replace the numbers after pub-

with yours supplied in your adsense account.

How to find your Pub id in your Google Adsense Account.

log into Google Adsense

Then click on

Adsense Setup

then click on

Referrals

then click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Scroll to the absolute bottom of this page and click on the Continue Button.

This page displays a text area with your adsense code in it.

in there you will see your publisher ID
